Introduction to the National Green Team League
1) Each Green Team will receive the Hope Award (Hero of Planet Earth Award) to be posted on their blog (as above) and in the local Community Green Guide. To be eligible, simply post your Green Team's plans and accomplishments on the accompanying blog (third link, right hand column).

2) Points A-E (right hand column) give background information about some of the programs affiliated with the National Green Team League.

3) Points 1-12 (right hand column) are areas in the National Green Team League that the Rogers School Green Team can compete and cooperate in. The Rogers School Green Team will receive double points for cooperation (helping fellow team members and other teams). The "win-win" attitude is the essence of sustainability.

4) Each Green Team will receive its own Community Green Guide eBook with the name of the community, school and Green Team on the cover. Each Green Team's four-page feature in the Community Green Guide will be introduced by a photo of the Green Team receiving the Hope Award (Hero of Planet Earth Award).

5) Green teams can fundraise through Community Green Guide, sponsors of virtual stadiums, and 12 categories. Each Green Team also receives its own blog (see right hand column) and help to create a You Tube video.

6) The goal of the National Green Team League is to double the members, excitement and productivity of school and city environmental clubs and green teams through sharing of best practices, cooperation and competition among and within the green teams.

7) Green Teams will start out competing like Sports Teams. However, they can elect to cooperate with other sports team. Green Point Averages start out at 250 and can increase to over 1000 based upon an individual member's completion of their projects.

8) Points assigned for completing a project are decided in advance by each Green Team Member, according to the accepted Ground Rules, with agreement from the rest of the Green Team and Head Coach or Manager (Teacher/Supervisor). Individuals with the highest rankings will be considered for the city's All-Star Team. The team's overall average will determine the team's city, state and national ranking.

9) Helping others doubles the Green Team Member's Points. Green Teams or Green Team Members can elect to keep Green Team Player Stats private to avoid discouragement (it's supposed to be fun!). Or individual members can selectively show their stats.

10) There will be over 100 subcategories within the 12 main categories for cooperation/ competition. This will allow each individual and team to receive top rankings in a category for their city. Green Teams may add their own categories
